About Mr Christopher Hillary
Born and raised in Yorkshire, Chris was admitted into the University of Leicester and Warwick Medical School to study Medicine at age 18. Following completion of his studies in 2009, he completed Foundation Training around the Midlands, prior to taking up a Core Surgical Training post back in his beloved South Yorkshire. Chris developed an affinity for urological surgery and in 2013, began a 3 year PhD research project into the use of stem cell therapies for reconstruction of urogenital conditions under the supervision of renowned urologist, Professor Christopher Chapple. Following the award of this degree, Chris was successfully appointed to the South Yorkshire specialist urology training programme, where he applied his research interests and techniques to cancer surgery. He was drawn towards kidney and testicular cancers, as well as vascular surgery and in 2021 was appointed jointly as consultant urologist at Chesterfield Royal Hospital with a specialist kidney surgery practice at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, which is where he now practices full time.
He lives in Sheffield with his Wife and two young daughters. In his spare time he enjoys cycling and undertaking a variety of building and landscaping projects for family and friends.
